martinlogan-depth-215-subwoofer
MartinLogan Depth 215 Subwoofer

Depth 215 Subwoofer

Depth 215 is MartinLogan's flagship subwoofer and the fullest expression of the company's bass engineering. Two active 15-inch Carbon Aerocore woofers sit in a force-cancelling BalancedForce layout, driven by dual Class-D amplifiers totalling 4,400W dynamic peak (2,200W RMS) and governed by a 64-bit Vojtko DSP engine. The result is enormous, effortless output with vanishingly low distortion, equally at home in a reference two-channel system or a dedicated home cinema.

BalancedForce Woofer System

The two 15-inch woofers are mounted in exact opposition, so their equal and opposite forces cancel instead of being passed into the cabinet. With cabinet resonance effectively removed, bass stays tight and articulate at any volume and blends seamlessly with high-end main speakers.

Carbon Aerocore Woofers

Each cone is a tri-layer construction: a carbon-fibre outer skin, a rigid, ultra-light PMI foam core and a fibreglass backing. The cone is extremely stiff yet nimble, suppressing resonance and ringing. Triple venting and dual copper shorting rings push distortion lower still.

Concealed, Convection-Cooled Amplifier

The amplifiers are completely hidden. The extruded aluminium trim on the rear edges doubles as heatsinks, drawing in cool air and exhausting heat, while the inputs sit discreetly along the bottom rear edge for neat cable management.

64-bit Vojtko DSP and ARC Genesis

A 500MHz, 64-bit DSP controls every aspect of performance in real time and supports Anthem Room Correction (ARC Genesis). A premium ARC calibration microphone, stand and cables are included, and calibration takes only a few minutes on a PC or Mac.

Vault-Like Cabinet

Variable-thickness walls from 1 to 3 inches, reinforced woofer baffles and a central dividing wall create an exceptionally inert enclosure. Integrated anti-vibration feet minimise energy transfer into the floor (carpet spikes included), cutting rattles and noise in adjoining rooms.

Connectivity, Wireless and Control

Inputs include XLR (stereo or LFE), RCA stereo and LFE, and speaker-level, plus an RCA sub output for chaining additional subwoofers. A wireless receiver is built in and a wireless transmitter is included. Adjust settings from your listening seat with the MartinLogan Subwoofer Control app for iOS and Android, or use the concealed Touch Control Interface behind the backlit front logo, whose colour is selectable or can be switched off.

Specifications

Specifications are subject to change without notice.

Frequency Response

18–120 Hz ±3 dB (anechoic, via LFE input)

Low Frequency Transducer

Dual active 15" cast-aluminium basket, high-excursion Carbon Aerocore cone woofers in a BalancedForce configuration, with under-spider, voice coil and pole piece venting, plus dual copper shorting rings

Amplifier

Dual reference-grade Class-D amplifiers: 4,400W dynamic peak (2,200W RMS)

Digital Signal Processing

Ultra high-resolution 500MHz Vojtko DSP engine with 64-bit processing

Cabinet

Extensively braced and reinforced variable-thickness (1–3") cabinet

Inputs

Line level: Left, Right and LFE (RCA)
XLR: Left, Right or LFE (Right In)
Speaker level: Left and Right (requires banana plugs)

Output

RCA Sub Out (outputs the sum of all connected inputs)

Wireless

Integrated wireless receiver, wireless transmitter included

Controls (Touch Control Interface)

Level, Tone Sweep, Low Pass Filter, Phase/Polarity, Listening Mode, 20–30Hz Level, ARC On/Off, Wireless On/Off, Passcode Lock, Logo Colour, Information, Factory Reset, Language Selection

Controls (via Bluetooth app)

Level: −40 to +12dB
Low-Pass Filter: 35–120Hz (1Hz steps); Bypass, Third or Fourth order
Phase: 0–180° (1° steps); Polarity: Normal, Inverted
Listening Modes: Movie, Music, Night
20–30Hz Level: ±10dB
ARC Genesis: On/Off
Tone Sweep (120–20Hz)

Power Draw

Max: 1000W
Standby (wireless disabled): 0.5W
Standby (wireless enabled): <2W (transmitter and subwoofer combined)

Feet

Integrated anti-vibration feet (carpet spikes included)

Dimensions (H × W × D)

57.2 × 58 × 59.5 cm (22.5" × 22.8" × 23.4")

Weight

78.5 kg (173 lbs)

Finish

Gloss Black

Sold As

Each
