Wharfedale Linton Heritage Bookshelf Speaker — Pair with Dedicated Stands
Stands included. Please confirm your preferred finish is in stock before ordering.
Some loudspeakers earn their place in history. The Wharfedale Linton is one of them. First introduced in 1965, the Linton became a benchmark of serious yet accessible hi-fi — a three-way standmount that delivered concert-hall scale from a living-room cabinet. Six decades later, Wharfedale’s 85th Anniversary Heritage Series brings it back, entirely re-engineered with contemporary drivers, crossover components, and cabinet construction, yet unmistakably faithful to the original’s proportions and wood-veneered aesthetic.
The new Linton is a genuine three-way design — a rarity in the modern market — pairing an 8" black woven Kevlar® bass driver with a 5" Kevlar® midrange cone and a 1" soft-dome tweeter. The bass-reflex cabinet is tuned to extend low-frequency response to 35Hz (−6dB), while the precisely calculated crossover points at 630Hz and 2.4kHz ensure seamless driver integration across the full audio band. At 90dB sensitivity, the Linton rewards amplifiers from 25W upward, making it equally at home with a vintage integrated or a modern high-current design.
Finished in your choice of Walnut or Mahogany veneer with a classic woven fabric grille, the Linton is as much a statement piece as it is a performance loudspeaker. The purpose-designed matching stands are included, positioning the tweeter at the ideal listening height and completing the vintage-inspired silhouette.

Caring for your Speakers and Amplifiers
To Keep your equipment safe these are some best practices to note. Please be advised that this is only to reduce the risk of misuse and is not an exhaustive list.
Speakers
- Speaker terminals are marked red and black, ensure your amplifier to the speakers are wired on the same colours
- Ensure no loose speaker wire from the red touches a loose wire from the black as this will lead to a short circuit and damage either the speaker, the amplifier or both.
- Not all speakers are designed to play at max volume, kindly consider the pairing of your amplifier and speakers
- Speaker cabinets cannot be replaced please handle with care.
AV & Stereo Amplifiers
- If your amplifier has HDMI ports, ensure all devices are off before plugging in the HDMI cable
- Turn off the amplifier before swoping out or adding speaker cable
- Amplifiers generate heat, place them in a well ventilated space. if possible avoid having anything on top of the unit.
- adding a surge protector can assist with power dips which are likely to damage your devices. Isotek and Furman are industry standard.
- Dusty environments can sometimes lead to accumulation of dust in the electronic components that might affect heat regulation
