The GOLDWATER is a special version of our The CLEARWATER twin line loudspeaker cable.In addition to its HULLIFLEX ® material jacket’s excellent impenetrability to environmental chemical agents, which after years of permanent exposure would be able to attack its Matched Crystal OFC strands through their extra dense defensive Silver coating, the extra embedded Gold colored filler material assures maximum protection: by exhibiting excellent reflective properties to ultraviolet radiation (UV) from the sun, any corrosive chemical activity on the conductors is reduced to a minimum.
The GOLDWATER is especially intended for use as a twin line loudspeaker cable in areas with an increased corrosion activity such as industrial, coastal and humid tropical areas. Due to its maximum corrosion protection The GOLDWATER is excellently suited for use in permanent professional, commercial and industrial distribution setups such as church sound systems and shopping mall, airport and alike music distribution systems as well as in car hi-fi applications.
As with all cabling in corrosive environments, proper care should be paid to seal all cable ends against air penetration; (contaminated) air tends to flow in and out of cables due to each day’s temperature variations.
Apart from its jacket’s extra protective Gold colored filler material and the extra dense silver layer on the conductors, the cable design doesn’t differ from our The CLEARWATER. Besides its UV protective function, the Gold color cosmetically works out very nice.
Sonically this cable is a great product with a well balanced overall quality. There is no harshness and the spatial reproduction is superior.
Both leads each consist of 98 high purity dense Silver coated high purity Matched Crystal OFC strands with an effective cross-section area of 1.97 mm² closely approaching AWG 14.
The resistance of each lead is 0.9 Ohm per 100 m.
The external dimensions are: 16.6 mm. wide and 5.0 mm. thick.
The jacket on each lead is different in shape, and the flat middle-section between both leads has a printing on one side: both properties are easy polarity finders. Type printing on every 25 cm. (10″) makes cutting of specified lengths very easy.
The GOLDWATER is available on 100 m. per reel in a 320 x 320 x 310 mm. box with a total shipping weight of 10.2 kg. and in custom made lengths with either our 3.0 mm. Ø cable entrance diameter Bus type Universal Speaker Connectors or our DIY Screw-On Speaker Connectors.
Caring for your Speakers and Amplifiers
To Keep your equipment safe these are some best practices to note. Please be advised that this is only to reduce the risk of misuse and is not an exhaustive list.
Speakers
- Speaker terminals are marked red and black, ensure your amplifier to the speakers are wired on the same colours
- Ensure no loose speaker wire from the red touches a loose wire from the black as this will lead to a short circuit and damage either the speaker, the amplifier or both.
- Not all speakers are designed to play at max volume, kindly consider the pairing of your amplifier and speakers
- Speaker cabinets cannot be replaced please handle with care.
AV & Stereo Amplifiers
- If your amplifier has HDMI ports, ensure all devices are off before plugging in the HDMI cable
- Turn off the amplifier before swoping out or adding speaker cable
- Amplifiers generate heat, place them in a well ventilated space. if possible avoid having anything on top of the unit.
- adding a surge protector can assist with power dips which are likely to damage your devices. Isotek and Furman are industry standard.
- Dusty environments can sometimes lead to accumulation of dust in the electronic components that might affect heat regulation
