SVS SB-5000 R|Evolution Subwoofer (Black Ash)
A high-performance sealed subwoofer for reference home cinema and hi-fi systems. The SB-5000 R|Evolution pairs a 15-inch high-excursion driver with a 2,000-watt RMS dual-monoblock amplifier and a 295MHz DSP, reaching down to 17Hz with SVS Auto EQ room calibration and full smartphone app control.
The 5000 R|Evolution Series brings technology developed for SVS's flagship 17-Ultra R|Evolution subwoofers to a more accessible price point. The sealed SB-5000 is tuned for tight, accurate, musical bass that suits critical music listening, while still having the power to pressurise a room for the most demanding film soundtracks.
Its sealed cabinet is considerably more compact than a ported design with comparable performance, making it easier to place in living spaces without giving up reference-level output.
Key Features
High-Excursion 15-inch Driver
An all-new 15-inch driver built for very high sound pressure levels with precise control.
- Light, stiff 15-inch glass-fibre composite cone for efficiency and linearity
- Two-piece toroidal ferrite motor for strong, controlled drive
- Extreme-excursion surround for long, clean pistonic travel
Dual Edge-Wound Voice Coils
- 6-layer bi-filar dual voice coils carry power from the dual-mono amplifier with high thermal efficiency
- Flat edge-wound aluminium wire for maximum magnetic density and heat handling
STA-2000D Dual-Mono Amplifier
Rated at 2,000 watts continuous and 5,000+ watts peak, with each monoblock driving one of the two voice coils.
- Fully discrete MOSFET output stage with Class D efficiency
- Eight 60A / 200V MOSFET transistors for high-current, reference-level output
Switch Mode Power Supply with PFC
- Onboard AC line conditioning filters and stabilises incoming mains
- Maintains a consistent 160V rail voltage from a standard household circuit
- Power factor correction for less heat, higher efficiency and stable rated output across a wide voltage range
- Convection-cooled design with no external heatsinks
295MHz Analog Devices DSP
The most powerful processor SVS has fitted to a home subwoofer, shaping in-room response and continuously monitoring thermal, voltage and current conditions. High-performance DACs with 120dB signal-to-noise ratio keep noise low and headroom high.
SVS Subwoofer App and Auto EQ
- Bluetooth app control on iOS, Android and Amazon Fire: volume, low-pass filter, phase, polarity, six parametric EQs, room gain compensation, tuning modes and power settings
- Three memory presets for music, movies, night listening and more
- SVS Auto EQ measures your room with your phone's microphone or the optional SVS Auto EQ Mic and calculates correction filters automatically
- Rear-panel OLED display with direct controls and a display-flip function
Inert, Braced Sealed Cabinet
- Double-thickness 2-inch MDF front baffle with rigid internal bracing
- Acoustic insulation to eliminate cabinet colouration at reference levels
- Non-resonant ABS grille frame with fabric cover
- Custom elastomer feet

Caring for your Speakers and Amplifiers
To Keep your equipment safe these are some best practices to note. Please be advised that this is only to reduce the risk of misuse and is not an exhaustive list.
Speakers
- Speaker terminals are marked red and black, ensure your amplifier to the speakers are wired on the same colours
- Ensure no loose speaker wire from the red touches a loose wire from the black as this will lead to a short circuit and damage either the speaker, the amplifier or both.
- Not all speakers are designed to play at max volume, kindly consider the pairing of your amplifier and speakers
- Speaker cabinets cannot be replaced please handle with care.
AV & Stereo Amplifiers
- If your amplifier has HDMI ports, ensure all devices are off before plugging in the HDMI cable
- Turn off the amplifier before swoping out or adding speaker cable
- Amplifiers generate heat, place them in a well ventilated space. if possible avoid having anything on top of the unit.
- adding a surge protector can assist with power dips which are likely to damage your devices. Isotek and Furman are industry standard.
- Dusty environments can sometimes lead to accumulation of dust in the electronic components that might affect heat regulation
Shipping & Returns
- Free shipping on orders over R500 within the country.
- Standard delivery within 2–5 business days. Delays will be communicated. This might vary slightly depending on your location.
