AudioQuest Red River XLR to XLR Balanced Interconnect Cable
The AudioQuest Red River XLR is a premium balanced analog audio interconnect engineered for audiophiles who demand exceptional clarity and low distortion. Featuring Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) conductors, Triple-Balanced geometry, and AudioQuest's proprietary Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation system, the Red River delivers cleaner, more naturally beautiful music from any XLR-equipped source component, preamplifier, or amplifier.
Key Technologies
Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) Conductors
AudioQuest's proprietary metal-processing technology produces an astonishingly smooth and pure conductor surface. Solid conductors eliminate strand interaction — one of the greatest sources of distortion in conventional cables — resulting in a clean, natural, low-distortion signal path.
Direction-Controlled Conductors
All drawn metal conductors have a non-symmetrical grain structure. AudioQuest controls the resulting RF impedance variation so that noise is drained away from where it will cause distortion. Arrows on the connectors indicate the correct signal direction for optimal performance.
Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation
Traditional shields drain captured RF energy to component ground, modulating the ground reference and distorting the signal. AudioQuest's Noise-Dissipation system “shields the shield” — absorbing and reflecting RF energy before it reaches the ground-attached layer, preserving a clean reference plane.
Hard-Cell Foam (HCF) Insulation
Nitrogen-injected Hard-Cell Foam insulation creates air pockets that do not absorb or release energy, reducing dielectric distortion. The material’s stiffness also maintains stable conductor geometry along the full cable length for consistent impedance.
Triple-Balanced Geometry
A dedicated ground-reference conductor ensures the shield is never used as a signal conductor. Both the positive and negative signal paths benefit from equally superior, low-distortion conducting paths — whether terminated with XLR or RCA connectors.
Cold-Welded, Gold-Plated Terminations
High-pressure cold-welding eliminates solder — a common source of distortion. Gold plating on the XLR connectors ensures long-term corrosion resistance and reliable contact.

Caring for your Speakers and Amplifiers
To Keep your equipment safe these are some best practices to note. Please be advised that this is only to reduce the risk of misuse and is not an exhaustive list.
Speakers
- Speaker terminals are marked red and black, ensure your amplifier to the speakers are wired on the same colours
- Ensure no loose speaker wire from the red touches a loose wire from the black as this will lead to a short circuit and damage either the speaker, the amplifier or both.
- Not all speakers are designed to play at max volume, kindly consider the pairing of your amplifier and speakers
- Speaker cabinets cannot be replaced please handle with care.
AV & Stereo Amplifiers
- If your amplifier has HDMI ports, ensure all devices are off before plugging in the HDMI cable
- Turn off the amplifier before swoping out or adding speaker cable
- Amplifiers generate heat, place them in a well ventilated space. if possible avoid having anything on top of the unit.
- adding a surge protector can assist with power dips which are likely to damage your devices. Isotek and Furman are industry standard.
- Dusty environments can sometimes lead to accumulation of dust in the electronic components that might affect heat regulation
Shipping & Returns
- Free shipping on orders over R500 within the country.
- Standard delivery within 2–5 business days. Delays will be communicated. This might vary slightly depending on your location.
- Return items in original condition for a full refund. (unopened state)
