The Barco Njord is a flagship residential laser projector engineered for the most demanding home cinema and large-venue installations. Delivering up to 12,500 ANSI lumens from a three-chip DLP platform with a laser phosphor light source, Njord produces breathtaking 4K UHD images with spectacular colour fidelity — even in high ambient light environments, large screens, and contemporary glass home designs.
Single Step Processing (SSP™)
Barco’s hardware and software-based SSP™ platform simplifies signal transmission from source to screen with the lowest possible processing lag — under 20ms with all image processing active — delivering artefact-free images with exceptional responsiveness.
State-of-the-Art Electronics & Optics
Njord’s Pulse electronics process 4K via HDMI™ 2.0a and HDCP 2.2, while the optical engine utilises the latest 0.9″ DMD DLP chipset delivering 3,840 × 2,160 pixels to screen. HDR10 support, motorised lenses, and Barco’s P7 RealColor™ processing enable simple, accurate calibration to any desired colour standard or white point.
Laser Light Source
Njord’s custom-selected laser engine delivers a DCI/P3 colour gamut with 95% image uniformity — a significant improvement over its predecessor. Lasers last up to 20,000 hours, offer near-instant on/off, and are far more robust than traditional projector lamps.
Light-on-Demand Flexibility
As standard, Njord offers flexible light output between 4,000 and 12,500 lumens via its Light-on-Demand feature, allowing precise brightness control to suit any screen size or ambient light condition.
Modular & Installation-Friendly Design
Njord’s modular architecture makes servicing straightforward. With 360° rotation, up to 73% vertical and 28% horizontal motorised lens shift, and a comprehensive lens range (throw ratios from 0.41:1 to 10.83:1), Njord adapts to virtually any installation geometry.
Control & Connectivity
Njord integrates seamlessly into any smart home ecosystem via IR, RS232, IP, and 12V trigger, with native driver modules for Crestron, Control4, RTI, and Savant. Inputs include HDMI™ 2.0, HDBaseT, DisplayPort 1.2, SDI/BarcoLink, and optional Quad DP1.2.

Note: This projector may become Risk Group 3 (RG3) when an interchangeable lens with throw ratio greater than 2.3 is installed. Refer to the installation manual for further information. Lens sold separately.
Caring for your Speakers and Amplifiers
To Keep your equipment safe these are some best practices to note. Please be advised that this is only to reduce the risk of misuse and is not an exhaustive list.
Speakers
- Speaker terminals are marked red and black, ensure your amplifier to the speakers are wired on the same colours
- Ensure no loose speaker wire from the red touches a loose wire from the black as this will lead to a short circuit and damage either the speaker, the amplifier or both.
- Not all speakers are designed to play at max volume, kindly consider the pairing of your amplifier and speakers
- Speaker cabinets cannot be replaced please handle with care.
AV & Stereo Amplifiers
- If your amplifier has HDMI ports, ensure all devices are off before plugging in the HDMI cable
- Turn off the amplifier before swoping out or adding speaker cable
- Amplifiers generate heat, place them in a well ventilated space. if possible avoid having anything on top of the unit.
- adding a surge protector can assist with power dips which are likely to damage your devices. Isotek and Furman are industry standard.
- Dusty environments can sometimes lead to accumulation of dust in the electronic components that might affect heat regulation
