Onkyo TX-NR6100 7.2-Channel THX Certified AV Receiver
The TX-NR6100 is Onkyo's 7.2-channel THX Certified AV receiver, delivering precision audio and video performance with a strong emphasis on the ultimate gaming experience. With HDMI 2.1 supporting 8K/60 Hz and 4K/120 Hz, VRR, ALLM, QFT, Discrete Zone 2 HDMI switching, and full Dolby Atmos and DTS:X decoding, the TX-NR6100 is built for both cinephiles and serious gamers alike.
Key Features
- 7.2-Channel Amplification — 100 W/ch (8 Ω, 20 Hz–20 kHz, 0.08% THD, 2 ch driven) with discrete high-current output stages for effortless dynamic headroom.
- THX Certified — Onkyo was the first consumer electronics brand to earn THX certification (1993), passing thousands of rigorous tests. Four THX listening modes: Cinema, Gaming, Music, and Surround EX ensure nothing is added or removed from the source.
- Ultimate 4K Gaming Experience — HDMI 2.1 with 4K/120 Hz HDR pass-through, VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode), and QFT (Quick Frame Transport) eliminate lag, stutter, and frame-tearing for fluid, competitive gameplay.
- Discrete Zone 2 HDMI Switching — Run independent Ultra HD entertainment in two rooms simultaneously — up to 8K/60 in Zone 1, and 4K/120 in Zone 2 when two separate HDMI sources are used.
- 8K-Ready HDMI 2.1 — Six HDMI inputs (two HDMI 2.1) and two HDMI outputs with eARC, HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and HLG support.
- Immersive Audio Formats — Native decoding of Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, DTS:X, and DTS-HD Master Audio.
- Streaming & Wireless — AirPlay 2, Chromecast built-in, Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Amazon Music HD, Deezer, TuneIn, and Bluetooth 5.0.
- Phono Input — Built-in MM phono stage for vinyl playback.
- FM/AM Tuner — 40-station preset memory; FM 87.5–107.9 MHz / AM 530–1,710 kHz.

Caring for your Speakers and Amplifiers
To Keep your equipment safe these are some best practices to note. Please be advised that this is only to reduce the risk of misuse and is not an exhaustive list.
Speakers
- Speaker terminals are marked red and black, ensure your amplifier to the speakers are wired on the same colours
- Ensure no loose speaker wire from the red touches a loose wire from the black as this will lead to a short circuit and damage either the speaker, the amplifier or both.
- Not all speakers are designed to play at max volume, kindly consider the pairing of your amplifier and speakers
- Speaker cabinets cannot be replaced please handle with care.
AV & Stereo Amplifiers
- If your amplifier has HDMI ports, ensure all devices are off before plugging in the HDMI cable
- Turn off the amplifier before swoping out or adding speaker cable
- Amplifiers generate heat, place them in a well ventilated space. if possible avoid having anything on top of the unit.
- adding a surge protector can assist with power dips which are likely to damage your devices. Isotek and Furman are industry standard.
- Dusty environments can sometimes lead to accumulation of dust in the electronic components that might affect heat regulation
