Van den Hul THE CLEARWATER (HALOGEN FREE)

With the design of The CLEARWATER, it was our intention to produce the best match between quality and price.

The decision was taken to work with 2 groups of strands with a conductor size of AWG 14; this because in many situations the distance between the amplifier and the loudspeakers is limited.

  • Therefore a twin-lead construction was made with 2 x 98 strands of a dense very pure silver coated Matched Crystal (MC) OFC.
  • The two conductor groups are twisted in opposite directions.
  • The resistance of each lead is: 0.9 Ohm/100 meter.
  • The capacitance between the two conductors is: 17.5 pF/meter.

Sonically this cable is a great product with a very balanced overall quality. There is no harshness and the spatial reproduction is superior.

 

Just as its name says: “The sound is as clear as water”

The cable’s jacket is made of transparent HULLIFLEX ® 3, a robust halogen free material excellently capable of shielding the copper conductors from the chemically threatening outside world.
The jacket on each lead is different in shape and the flat middle section in between has a printing on one side: both properties are easy polarity finders. Type printing at 25 cm. (10″) distance makes cutting of specified lengths very easy.

Packing: 100 meter per reel in a box with external dimensions of 320 x 320 x 310 mm. and with a total shipping weight of 8.8 kg.

 

    Caring for your Speakers and Amplifiers

    To Keep your equipment safe these are some best practices to note. Please be advised that this is only to reduce the risk of misuse and is not an exhaustive list.

    Speakers

    • Speaker terminals are marked red and black, ensure your amplifier to the speakers are wired on the same colours
    • Ensure no loose speaker wire from the red touches a loose wire from the black as this will lead to a short circuit and damage either the speaker, the amplifier or both.
    • Not all speakers are designed to play at max volume, kindly consider the pairing of your amplifier and speakers
    • Speaker cabinets cannot be replaced please handle with care.

    AV & Stereo Amplifiers

    • If your amplifier has HDMI ports, ensure all devices are off before plugging in the HDMI cable
    • Turn off the amplifier before swoping out or adding speaker cable
    • Amplifiers generate heat, place them in a well ventilated space. if possible avoid having anything on top of the unit.
    • adding a surge protector can assist with power dips which are likely to damage your devices. Isotek and Furman are industry standard.
    • Dusty environments can sometimes lead to accumulation of dust in the electronic components that might affect heat regulation
